About Us

Focus Gallery was established in 1971 by Norman Roland and since then it has continued to thrive and become Nottingham's longest running independent gallery, well known for unique art and crafts.

From jewellery, to woodwork, textiles, paintings, glass, ceramics, metalwork, and mixed media artwork, Focus Gallery is where to buy British made Arts & Crafts in Nottingham.

We strive to create a relaxed environment for you to enjoy the gallery, find inspiration, and learn more about the wealth of talented local artists, without feeling pressured to purchase.

With regular exhibitions and events, there's always a reason to visit Focus Gallery.

If you are interested in hiring the lower floor gallery space as a group or individual then please get in touch with us. Prices are very reasonable and all enquiries welcomed.

Gallery Owner Antonia

We specialise in jewellery and have dedicated cabinets to show a broad range of work, predominantly from Nottingham-based jewellers that create in everything from gold and silver, to gemstones, enamel, resin, and acrylic. These jewellers also often lead workshops at our onsite jewellery school.

When our current owner Antonia Disney took on the gallery in 2014, she brought together her background in silversmithing and galleries to create a workshop and gallery all under one roof, and is always bringing fresh ideas to the table to keep the gallery growing.

Antonia is the fourth owner in nearly 50 years which goes to show how much our gallery is loved by both the owners and the public.

We are a small team here at the gallery who all have art and design backgrounds.

Antonia who is the gallery owner has a degree from Staffordshire University and specilaised in jewellery. Sophie, who was our apprentice has just completed a City & Guilds Craft Skills for Creative Industries course with Nottingham College & Nottingham Craft Academy. Sophie is now gallery coordinator and second in command. Why not read Sophie's blog where she documented her progress throughout the course.

We also take on volunteers and interns who help run the gallery with us and often go on to careers in the creative sector.

Whatever their background, our staff can offer expert advice on the work we show with their genuine passion for art; whether that's to help you choose a special gift, brighten up your home with new wall art, or treat yourself to a piece you love.
